Monoculars are handy

October 20, 2016

Monoculars are an often times overlooked tool to have in your pocket or purse. Most weighing in at just a few ounces, these small tools are a power packed optic. There are many brands available and the pricing is attractive as well.

Quality monoculars will also have the basic features that are also found on quality binoculars such as eye cups, diopter adjustment, and quality prisms. Although they may be small, the magnification and  objective size selected is critical to your needs and expectations. Special features such as built in reticles and compasses certainly add to the tools functionality and usefulness in the field.

Consider a monocular as a backup optic for your use.
